About Artisan
Artisan Rug Washing Company is a family owned and operated business located in beautiful Palm Coast, Florida. Owned by Joseph and Barbara DeSouza, we have been caring for our clients in Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Ponce Inlet, St Augustine, St. Johns and the greater Volusia, Flagler and St. Johns Counties for over 19 years.
Our family has a history here in Palm Coast reaching back to the early seventies when we first purchased property from ITT. We would visit Palm Coast every couple of years and watched it grow from quaint little town to a small city! Originally from New England, we finally decided to move our family down to the town we love as permanent residents in 2004, and the rest is history!
Our sister company, Healthy Home Carpet Care, has been one of the most recognized names in Carpet Cleaning in the greater Palm Coast area. Providing only the finest textile care to the finest homes, and being the original "Green Cleaner" in Palm Coast, Healthy Home has gained an excellent reputation in the finest communities such as Grand Haven, Plantation Bay, Hammock Dunes, Hammock Beach and Breakaway Trails and has over fifteen-hundred satisfied clients, some of which are still using us for over 19 years!
Because of the trend in the flooring industry to move towards hard floors such as tile, natural stone & wood we found that many of our clients were purchasing beautiful area rugs to place on those floors. Because of this we took upon ourselves to get the necessary training and equipment to properly care for those rugs.
Besides caring for rugs, we also are collectors of fine antique rugs ourselves! We own a couple of turn of the century Hamadans, Saruks, a fine silk rug (one of my personal favorites) and we do occasionally buy, sell and trade rugs with our clients also, so feel free to ask us what we may have for sale or what you may want to sell; we love to talk about rugs!
One thing we are proud of is keeping up with current trends and advancements in the fine textile cleaning profession. These are some pictures that were taken with fellow rug cleaners from all over the country during one of our yearly get togethers this past February... at these meetings we have some of the nation's best rug cleaners congregate at one of their shops and we spend a solid two days of cross-training and have the opportunity to learn from each other and to have hands-on workshops and product demonstrations.
